CSCI 3080 - Security


3 cr.

This course highlights the critical role of computing in modern infrastructure, such as transportation, communication, healthcare, education, and energy, and the importance of protecting these systems from security threats. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of system vulnerabilities, threats, and defense mechanisms to design, implement, and maintain robust, safe, and secure software systems. Topics include security analysis, privacy, cryptography, secure systems, secure data, and secure code. Through this course, students will cultivate a security-first mindset, ensuring security is embedded in every aspect of their work as computing professionals.
