Program Admission - M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction


M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction

In addition to the university requirements for admission, all applicants must present a combined score of 1875 on a scale which is found by multiplying their total undergraduate grade-point average by the combined Graduate Record Examination General Test score (Verbal plus Quantitative) in order to qualify for “Regular Status.” Students scoring between 1650 and 1875 (GRE X GPA) may be admitted on “Conditional Status.” Applicants for Alternative Certification degrees must meet the additional admission requirements specified for those programs.

Program Requirements


Concentration in Early Intervention:


A candidate for the specialization in Special Education, Early Intervention must hold a valid teacher’s certificate in a field complementary to graduate specialization issued by the Louisiana State Department of Education or its equivalent. A total of 36 semester hours must be earned for the degree. Successful candidates in this program also earn their endorsement for Teacher Leader. The requirements include:

Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated ‘For Undergraduate and Graduates,’ a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
