KINS 4034 - Professional Development in Kinesiology

1 cr.

This course is designed as a pre-internship experience that will provide undergraduate Kinesiology students with the key training needed to engage in the professional activities that are central to a successful career in the fields of kinesiology-related fields. Although issues of substantive, exercise, fitness, sport, and/or wellness importance naturally will be addressed, the primary focus will be on the strategies and skills that are needed to translate one’s substantive knowledge into a successful career - one that advances both the individual’s goals and the general community goals of improved health, decreased disease, and the reduction of health disparity. As this description indicates, this course is most appropriate for undergraduate students who will be pursuing careers that emphasize their preparation in kinesiology-related fields.

Prerequisite(s): junior standing and KINS 2011 .
