Accreditation Status


American College of Sports Medicine Program Endorsement
The Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science at ULM has been endorsed by the American College of Sports Medicine at the Exercise Specialist level. 

Program Admission


Departmental review of applications is ongoing. Your chances for admission are greatest if you apply before the Graduate School deadlines to allow adequate time for processing and verification of your credentials. All applicants are subject to the University requirements for admission to the Graduate School but are not required to take the GRE.

 

Program Requirements


For those students not holding an undergraduate degree in an exercise science, kinesiology, or sport management-related discipline, the following requirements must be met: Students must make a B or higher on the first 12 hours taken and will be dismissed from the program should they make a C or lower in any of the first 12 hours.
 

Sport Management Concentration


Requirements for the Master of Science in Exercise Science Sport Management concentration may be completed wholly online.  There is no final comprehensive exam requirement.

Take three(3) courses per semester.
Required for Degree:
EXSC 5007 - Research Methods in Exercise Science  
EXSC 5027 - Statistical Methods in Exercise Science   

In addition, choose 21 Credit Hours of the following:

Sport Performance


Requirements for the Master of Science in Exercise Science Sport Performance concentration can be completed in four semesters. There is no final comprehensive exam requirement. 

Take three(3) courses per semester.
Required for Degree:
EXSC 5007 - Research Methods in Exercise Science 
EXSC 5027 - Statistical Methods in Exercise Science  

In addition, choose 21 Credit Hours of the following:

Applied Exercise Science Concentration


Requirements for the Master of Science in Exercise Science Applied Exercise Science can be completed in four semesters. There is no final comprehensive exam requirement. 

Take three(3) courses per semester.
Required for Degree:
EXSC 5007 - Research Methods in Exercise Science  
EXSC 5027 - Statistical Methods in Exercise Science  

In addition, choose 21 Credit Hours of the following:

Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
