Program Admission


Regular Admission
Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of attempted coursework to be regularly admitted.

Applicants who have earned any graduate or terminal degree from a from a college or university accredited and recognized at the institutional level by the US Department of Education (USDOE) will qualify for regular admission to a master’s program provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.
or
Meet a minimum formula score of 800 (GPA x GRE)
and
9 undergraduate credit hours of psychology, of which 3 must be statistics or equivalent

Applicants who fail to meet the above standards may be admitted on conditional status by the recommendation of the Committee on Admissions of the Psychology Department in concert with the Dean of the Graduate School.

Program Requirements


Undergraduate requirements include 9 semester hours of psychology, including at least 3 semester hours of statistics or its equivalent. The student will not be allowed to take more than 12 graduate hours until all undergraduate prerequisites are completed.

Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
