Requirements for this concentration are:

Program Admission


Applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher will qualify for regular admission status.
Applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 - 2.74 will qualify for conditional admission status.

In addition to the university requirements for admission, all applicants must meet the following:

  1. Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university;
  2. Passing scores on state-designated PRAXIS content exam.

Program Requirements


All candidates must meet all other eligibility requirements for initial teacher licensure in Louisiana, which include meeting the Program Admission requirements above, satisfactory performance in specified courses, and passing scores on all state-designated Praxis exams.

Concentration in Elementary Education Mild/Moderate 1-5 (Dual Certification)

Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
