Program Admission


In addition to the university requirements for admission to the Graduate School, applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 hours of attempted coursework to be regularly admitted.

Applicants who have earned any graduate or terminal degree from a from a college or university accredited and recognized at the institutional level by the US Department of Education (USDOE) will qualify for regular admission to a master’s program provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.

Applicants who fail to meet the above standards may be admitted on conditional admission status as recommended by the Graduate Coordinator of the Department of Communication in concert with the Dean of the Graduate School.

The student’s plan of study is to be determined with the guidance of the student’s major professor.

Graduate Courses


Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
