Program Admission
In addition to the university requirements for admission to the Graduate School at ULM, applicants for admission to the Master of Science in Psychology degree program will have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
OR will meet two of the following criteria:
- A minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.75; and/or
- A minimum combined score of 290 on the GRE General Test (Verbal plus Quantitative); and/or
- A total of at least 800 points based upon the formula score of overall undergraduate grade-point average x GRE General Test score (Verbal plus Quantitative).
Applicants who fail to meet the above standards may be admitted on conditional status by the recommendation of the Committee on Admissions of the Psychology Department in concert with the Dean of the Graduate School.
Program Requirements
Undergraduate requirements include 9 semester hours of psychology, including at least 3 semester hours of statistics or its equivalent. The student will not be allowed to take more than 12 graduate hours until all undergraduate prerequisites are completed.
The Master of Science in Psychology requires the following program requirements of all students:

Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
