Program Admission
Applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher will qualify for regular admission status.
Applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 - 2.74 will qualify for conditional admission status.
In addition to the university requirements for admission, all applicants must meet the following:
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university;
- Passing scores on PRAXIS I (Core Academic Skills for Educators),
OR
minimum composite ACT score of 22,
OR
minimum SAT combined verbal/critical reading and math score of 1030,
OR
previous graduate degree;
- Passing scores on state-designated PRAXIS II content exam.
Program Requirements
45 semester hours to include: Total Hours 45
To successfully complete Curriculum 5065, candidates must meet all other eligibility requirements for initial teacher licensure in Louisiana for both General and Special Education, which include meeting Program Admission requirements above, satisfactory performance in specified courses, and passing scores on state-designated General and Special Education PRAXIS II tests. Graduate Courses
Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
