POST-BACCALAUREATE CERTIFICATE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Elementary program is designed for individuals who have earned a baccalaureate degree in a discipline other than education and who are seeking teacher certification in Elementary Education (Grades 1-5). The practitioner teacher program is a streamlined certification path that combines intensive coursework and full-time teaching. This program is structured as a 3-semester – 21 hour program with full-time teaching required in the final two semesters. The Louisiana Department of Education also requires (1) a baccalaureate degree, (2) the minimum GPA requirement 2.20 OR higher on a 4.00 scale (3) Pass all parts of the CORE PRAXIS I test (Math, Reading, Writing) OR have an ACT score of at least 22 to waive this test OR have a Master’s degree in any subject.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Baccalaureate Degree and Admission to ULM
- Minimum GPA requirement 2.20 on a 4.00 scale
- Pass all parts of the CORE PRAXIS I test (Math, Reading, Writing) OR have an ACT score of at least 22 to waive this test OR have a Master’s degree in any subject (Prior to admission)
- Pass required PRAXIS content exam (Prior to Semester II)
- Minimum GPA requirement 2.75 in POST BACC coursework (Prior to Semester III)
- Pass required PRAXIS PLT exam (Prior to Semester III)
