Program Admission
In addition to the university requirements for admission, all applicants must present a combined score of 707.50 on a scale which is found by multiplying their total undergraduate grade point average by the combined Graduate Record Examination Test score (verbal plus quantitative) in order to qualify for regular admission. Students scoring between 622.60 and 707.50 (GRE X GPA) may be admitted conditionally. Applicants for Alternative Certification degrees must meet the additional admission requirements specified for those programs.
Program Requirements
Applicants must hold a valid teacher’s certificate in a field complimentary to the graduate concentration issued by the Louisiana State Department of Education or its equivalent. A total of 36 semester hours must be earned for the degree regardless of concentration chosen. Successful candidates also earn their endorsement for Teacher Leader.

Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
