Program Admission
In addition to the university requirements for admission, all applicants must present a combined score of 707.50 on a scale which is found by multiplying their total undergraduate grade-point average by the combined Graduate Record Examination General Test score (Verbal + Quantitative) in order to qualify for “Regular Status.” Students scoring between 622.60 and 707.50 (GRE X GPA) may be admitted on “Conditional Status.” Other admission requirements include meeting the following:
- Eligibility requirements for admission to Teacher Education (minimum of 2.5 grade-point average on undergraduate studies and passing scores on PRAXIS I: Reading, Writing, Math) or a composite of 22 on the ACT; and
- Content knowledge requirements for Louisiana initial teacher licensure eligibility (passing scores on PRAXIS Elementary Education: Content Knowledge 10014); and
- MAT screening assessment requirements: ulm.edu/teach

45 semester hours to include: Total Hours 45
To successfully complete Curriculum 5065, candidates must meet all other eligibility requirements for initial teacher licensure in Louisiana for both General and Special Education, which include meeting Program Admission requirements above, satisfactory performance in specified courses, and passing scores on state-designated General and Special Education PRAXIS II tests. Graduate Courses
Note: To receive graduate credit for a 4000-level course designated “For Undergraduate and Graduates,” a student must be in graduate admission status at the time credit is earned in the course. Credit earned in undergraduate admission status cannot be changed to graduate credit.
