HIST 4051 - The Revolutionary Generation


(3 Cr.) The history of the American Revolution, placing it within the Trans-Atlantic community, its impact upon domestic society, and its influence upon the revolutionary generation of England, Ireland, and Europe generally. In considering political developments, attention will also focus upon the Revolution’s impact upon women, Native-Americans and the institution of slavery. The course will conclude with a review of the Articles of Confederation and the weaknesses of the early Federal Union. Prerequisites: 2001
