HIST 4008 - Contemporary History

(3 Cr.) A survey of the major developments in the world over the last few decades. This course will concentrate on the problems and developments of the Gulf War, the computer revolution, the former Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the rise of communist China, the former Yugoslavia, majority rule in South Africa, nuclear proliferation in the Cold War and after, and the Arab-Israeli dispute. Prerequisites: HIST 1012 or 2002 or consent of instructor.
