The Grove
The ULM Grove is located behind the Activity Center and adjacent to Malone Stadium. The ULM Department of Athletics is responsible for the day to day activities in the Grove and for special event functions. Reservations can be made through the Athletic Office located in Malone Stadium, Monday – Thursday 8 am-5 pm and Friday 8 am-11:30 am. University scheduled events will take priority over any other events. Please note the following restrictions on using this venue:
- University Police will be required for all functions allowing alcoholic beverages to be consumed or if NON ULM students will be in attendance. The event sponsor/organization is responsible for securing police officers from the ULM Police located at 3811 DeSiard St (Filhiol Hall) and providing documentation at least seven ( 7) days in advance to the Athletic Dept. representative scheduling the event. ULM Police will determine the number of officers needed for the event. (current rate is $25 per hour / per officer / with 3 hours minimum.) NOTE: Your event will be held temporary until police and insurance (if necessary) has been secured and delivered to the individual scheduling the event.
- If any individuals that are NOT ULM students will attend the function, or if there is a charge to attend, a $1 million insurance policy must be secured seven (7) days prior to the event. Note: the policy must cover liability for ULM, in addition to the organization.
- All events must end and the area cleaned by dark. Eight (8) pm during the summer months and 5 pm after daylight savings time ends.
- No events will be scheduled on Sunday after 5:00 pm.
- No outside activities (two (2) days prior to an event) will be scheduled during University events such as Homecoming, Home Football games, Spring Fever, etc.
- Any exceptions to the above policy will be determined by the ULM Athletic Director, the Vice President for Student Affairs and the President’s Office.
Overnight Parking in the Grove
Overnight parking in the grove for motor homes and campers will be allowed during recognized events on campus. Reservations will be required for major events in Malone Stadium such as ULM Football games, Jamborees, State Playoff games, Concerts, etc. Other home events such as baseball/softball games, games at University Park, Tennis, Soccer or other university events will be on a first come, first serve basis with the ULM Foundation members and Alumni receiving priority. A liability/waiver form must be completed with payment. Make checks payable to the ULM Athletic Foundation.
All motor homes and campers will pay a daily rental fee and will be required to leave the area trash free when they depart (dumpsters are located next to the Activity Center).
Bayou Park
Bayou Park is located on the west side of Bayou DeSiard, between the foot bridge and the Northeast Drive car bridge. The Office of Student Life and Leadership is responsible for scheduling daily events and University sponsored activities at this venue with the following restrictions:
- Since Bayou Park does not have adequate lighting or restroom facilities, ONLY University sponsored events will be held at this venue.
- Any exceptions to this policy will be determined by the Vice President for Student Affairs and the President’s Office.
